The process of making this piece included lots of online research to start. I took inspiration from ancient architecture styles and fused them with futuristic decoration styles of the modern-day. I found in AP Art and Design this year that coming up with ideas in a collaborative space is extremely useful in having them turn out better than expected ... I also found the importance of research while working out rough sketches.

Pacific Collegiate School is a college preparatory public charter school with an emphasis on visual and performing arts. Alec was introduced to foundational concepts and technical skills in middle school introductory courses. In high school, Alec had the opportunity to explore his own interests, artistic
preferences, and was encouraged to express his own ideas and perspectives through a variety of visual media.
Alec maximized opportunities to grow his skill and prowess as an artist in and beyond the classroom. He is diligent and hardworking and pushes himself to engage as a thoughtful and reflective learner. Even when learning remotely during the 2020-2021 school year, Alec was a classroom leader, offering substantive feedback to his classmates and gracefully receiving feedback to improve his own work.
Alec used considerable technical skills to explore theoretical concepts and to challenge constructs of contemporary culture in his AP portfolio. His guiding questions, “Where is the line drawn between fiction and reality? How is augmented reality used to close this gap?” pushed him to blur and explore boundaries in innovative and evocative ways. Pacific Collegiate School could not be prouder of this young artist!
