statement
The focus of my inquiry started with two paths. I wanted to explore how to make jewelry more interactive and provide tactile feedback while I moved and wore the jewelry. Part of that stems from my earlier work, which was more practical and rigid, and the other part from my interest in motion, from the way clothing moves with the body to the way bodies move through water.
It wasn’t until I started making bracelets out of multiple parts that I started to see actual motion with the pieces. By anchoring the pieces at my wrist and one of my fingers, I could contain the movement to a localized area.
