Welcome to the 2024 AP Art and Design Exhibit! Now in its fifth year, the AP Art and Design Exhibit proudly showcases the creative rigor demonstrated in AP 2-D Art and Design, AP 3-D Art and Design, and AP Drawing Portfolio Exams. This exhibit highlights a diverse range of:
  • Student ideas (visual and written)
  • Styles of art-making, influenced by both historical and contemporary approaches to art and design
  • Innovation in materials and approaches to art thinking and making through practice, experimentation, and revision
  • Guided inquiry through the investigation of materials, processes, and ideas
  • Synthesis
  • Exemplary 2-D design, 3-D design, or drawing skills
This year’s exhibit honors and recognizes visual art education programs worldwide that support student-driven inquiry through art and design. Designed as a teaching and learning tool, the exhibit celebrates student accomplishments while highlighting and sharing best practices from students, teachers, and school leaders.
The AP Art and Design Exhibit acknowledges student achievements by publishing their work, making each represented student a published artist. Each student's page contains a unique URL that can be shared across social media channels. Additionally, the 2024 AP Art and Design Exhibit is available on AP Central®, linked in AP Classroom, and shareable across social media platforms.
Congratulations to this year’s featured students, teachers, and school leaders! I commend you on your visual art achievements through AP Art and Design.

Congratulations to all the artists in this year's AP Art and Design exhibition. We extend a special thank you to your families, whose daily support has been instrumental in your artistic journey. Viewing the student work reminds us of life's mystery, struggles, passions, and the desire to leave our mark on the world. We are grateful for the opportunity to view these artworks, which are essentially windows into their unique communities and experiences. We celebrate the complexity with which students perceive themselves in their communities, their concerns with their identities, and the changing world they inhabit. The richness of their voices and stories shines through each piece, and we understand more about student experiences.
This year's artworks are a testament to the selected students' creativity, effort, and artistic abilities to communicate their creative vision through innovative materials and processes. Each work showcases the wide assortment and range of themes presented through originality, inventiveness, and technical proficiency. The selected students show a high level of accomplishment in synthesizing ideas and communicating an emotional resonance to a contemporary reflection, demonstrating contemplative thinking and social intelligence. Through deep thinking, many artworks question conscientious thinking, morality, and self-determination. We take great pride in celebrating these students and their remarkable accomplishments. Their success illustrates the dynamic creative spirit of their artistic perception.
The AP Art and Design Exhibition serves as a beacon for art educators and students, guiding them to share the unique voices of these students. In putting together this exhibition, we aimed to celebrate each student's approach to creativity, innovation, and critical thinking through inquiry, process, and practice. We want to thank all students, teachers, and the College Board for their pivotal role in this effort. The inquiry-based curriculum of AP Art and Design has the transformative power to make the world a better place.
